President Duda supports Karol Nawrocki for 2025 Polish elections, praising his historical perspective and PiS-backed civic credentials.

President Andrzej Duda has expressed admiration for Karol Nawrocki, who has been announced as the Law and Justice (PiS) party’s supported candidate for the 2025 presidential election. Speaking during a press conference in Armenia, Duda emphasized the clarity Nawrocki’s candidacy brings to the upcoming election, mentioning other major contenders, including Rafał Trzaskowski (Civic Coalition), Szymon Hołownia (Poland 2050), and Sławomir Mentzen (Confederation).

A Candidate Close to Duda’s Heart
Duda described Nawrocki, currently the president of the Institute of National Remembrance, as a “very interesting candidate,” praising his approach to historical and state matters. He expressed hope that voters will have ample opportunity to assess candidates’ programs before making their decisions.

The formal campaign will begin after the Speaker of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, officially announces the election date, expected on January 8. The election is likely to take place in May 2025, with PiS emphasizing Nawrocki’s nonpartisan and civic credentials.
