Renowned conductor and pedagogue Andrzej Kosendiak has been awarded the prestigious Gloria Artis Gold Medal for his outstanding contributions to Polish culture. The award was presented by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Hanna Wróblewska, during the opening concert of the 80th season of the NFM Choir and Philharmonic in Wrocław.
A Legacy of Musical Leadership
Kosendiak, a graduate of the Academy of Music in Wrocław, has significantly shaped the Polish musical landscape. He served as the director of the Wrocław Philharmonic and Wratislavia Cantans Festival, transforming them into the National Forum of Music, which he led until 2024. He also founded new artistic ensembles, including the NFM Choir and Wrocław Baroque Orchestra.
Dedication to Education and Innovation
A passionate educator, Kosendiak has taught at various institutions and initiated numerous educational projects, such as the “Musica Polonica Rediviva” program. His achievements have earned him several awards, including the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta in 2023.
