“Work is underway on releasing the annex to the report on the dissolution of the Military Information Services,” said the head of the National Security Bureau, Prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz. He emphasized that he hopes the document will be published within the next six months. “This will be an important contribution to understanding what WSI really were,” he declared.
Will the annex to the report on the dissolution of WSI be released?
After Karol Nawrocki assumed the office of President of the Republic of Poland, the issue of publishing the annex to the report on the dissolution of the Military Information Services resurfaced. The annex is held in the archives of the Chancellery of the President of Poland.
Today, the matter was addressed by Prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz, head of the National Security Bureau (BBN).
“This is the president’s decision and we, so to speak, at the BBN, specifically General Andrzej Kowalski, are working on it. It has been publicly communicated many times (that the president has made this decision – ed.) and the president supports our efforts to prepare this document for publication in line with the Constitutional Tribunal’s ruling, and this process has begun,” he said.

He added that they are currently awaiting “various legal opinions on the extent to which we should anonymize the document and how to implement the Constitutional Tribunal’s ruling.” Asked whether the document would be published within the next six months, he replied: “I hope so. This will be an important contribution to what WSI were.”
When asked why the annex should be published, Prof. Cenckiewicz pointed out that “so much time has already passed that these matters are no longer sensitive.”
“The dissolution of WSI took place in 2006, the annex was prepared in 2007. A long time has passed, and the cases described often go back even earlier than 2006 or 2007. The Polish right has turned this annex into a Holy Grail, and it’s time to finally put an end to it,” he stated.
