In response to the attempted arson at the Nożyków Synagogue in Warsaw, Poland, law enforcement officials have arrested a 16-year-old suspect, as announced by Czesław Mroczek, Deputy Minister of the Interior and Administration.
Nighttime Attack
The incident occurred during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, with reports indicating that an individual threw a Molotov cocktail towards the synagogue. The attack has been condemned by various officials, including President Andrzej Duda, Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, Chief Rabbi of Poland Michael Schudrich, and ambassadors from Israel and the United States.
Police Operation
The arrest was made through a collaborative effort between the Warsaw Metropolitan Police, the Polish Police Headquarters, and the Internal Security Agency (ABW). The suspect was apprehended in the Bemowo district of Warsaw.

Law enforcement agencies swiftly responded to the incident, with officers from various departments and the ABW joining forces to identify and detain the perpetrator. Authorities emphasized a zero-tolerance approach towards such acts of violence.
Historical Significance
The Nożyków Synagogue, located at 6 Twarda Street, is the only pre-war synagogue in Warsaw that remains operational. Since 2008, the building has undergone renovations, including roof repairs and restoration of its wooden structure.
