Last night, emergency services received an anonymous report of a fire at the family home of President Karol Nawrocki in Gdańsk. Firefighters and police forced entry into the apartment, breaking down the door. During the several-minute intervention, no fire or presence of any individuals was found inside.
The case is stirring strong emotions. “The system is not working, and that is the problem,” said Gen. Andrzej Bartkowiak in a comment to us.
The matter was also addressed by Mateusz Morawiecki. The Vice President of Law and Justice (PiS) pointed to political responsibility in connection with the series of false alarms that have already affected not only journalists of TV Republika, but also the most important figures in the state.

For the pressure on right-wing politicians. For striking at the first citizen of the Republic. For actions that undermine the constitutional order and attempt to change the foundations of Polish law through the back door – including in matters concerning the transcription of foreign same-sex marriage certificates. These are not ‘isolated incidents.’ This is a deliberate course: bypassing citizens, bypassing democratic debate, bypassing the Constitution. The time for tolerating this lawlessness is coming to an end. It is time for bold decisions,” wrote the former prime minister.
