Bad News for Tusk’s Government. More Than Half of Poles View Its Performance Negatively

In February this year, 53 percent of respondents assessed the government’s economic policy negatively (an increase of 4 percentage points). Meanwhile, 54 percent expressed a critical opinion of the prime minister himself (up by 1 percentage point), according to the latest poll by CBOS.

The survey, published on Friday, shows that 34 percent of respondents declared support for the government in February. This marks an increase of 1 percentage point compared to the January survey. At the same time, 41 percent identified themselves as opponents of the government, representing a decrease of 1 percentage point compared to the previous measurement.

Twenty-two percent of respondents said they feel indifferent toward the Council of Ministers (unchanged), while 3 percent — the same as in January — had no opinion on the matter.

52 Percent Negative About the Government’s Work

Currently, 35 percent of respondents express a positive view of the government’s performance (down by 2 percentage points), whereas just over half of Poles (52 percent, up by 1 percentage point) rate it negatively. Fourteen percent declare that they do not have a clearly defined opinion about the government’s work (an increase of 2 percentage points).

Poles Critical of the Economy and of Tusk Himself

The survey also indicates a deterioration in the assessment of the government’s economic policy. Thirty-six percent of respondents evaluate its actions in this area positively (a decrease of 3 percentage points), while 53 percent express skepticism (an increase of 4 percentage points). Eleven percent have no opinion on this issue (down by 1 percentage point).

The polling agency also recorded a decline in the prime minister’s ratings. In February, 35 percent of respondents expressed satisfaction that Donald Tusk holds the office of head of government (down by 1 percentage point), while the share of critical opinions reached 54 percent (up by 1 percentage point). Twelve percent selected the answer “hard to say” (up by 1 percentage point).

The survey was conducted between February 5 and February 16, 2026, on a sample of 967 respondents (including 60.2 percent using the CAPI method, 24.1 percent CATI, and 15.7 percent CAWI).
