Adam Bielan has pushed back against reports by Onet regarding Karol Nawrocki’s recent visit to the United States. “Don’t be fooled,” the Polish MEP urged in response to what he called “sensationalist claims.”
To fake news!

During the trip, presidential candidate and head of Poland’s Institute of National Remembrance (IPN), Dr. Karol Nawrocki, met with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House. The meeting was confirmed by the White House itself, which posted photos of Nawrocki and Trump together in the Oval Office on social media. As a guest of the U.S. President, Nawrocki also held a series of meetings with key figures in the Republican administration, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Speaker of the House Mike Johnson.
Even before the Nawrocki–Trump meeting was officially confirmed, politicians aligned with Poland’s ruling coalition—as well as segments of mainstream media—sought to downplay or discredit Nawrocki’s visit to the United States.
Earlier today, Onet.pl published an anonymously authored article titled: “Karol Nawrocki’s ‘Meeting’ with Marco Rubio Lasted Under 10 Seconds. There’s Footage.” The article featured a video clip aired by TVN24, seemingly aimed at trivializing the encounter.
In response, Adam Bielan, a PiS MEP who accompanied Nawrocki during his U.S. trip, called the article “fake news.”
“Chairman Karol Nawrocki spent a total of 7.5 hours at the White House and held meetings both before and after the ceremony in the Rose Garden,” Bielan wrote. “Before the ceremony, he had a 1.5-hour discussion with, among others, Secretary Marco Rubio and Speaker Mike Johnson. Don’t be misled.”
Earlier, Paweł Szefernaker, the head of Nawrocki’s campaign, also commented on what he described as “yet another wave of attacks” targeting the candidate.
