Caritas Polska Mobilizes Aid for Flood Victims in Poland

Caritas Polska has been aiding flood victims since the beginning of the disaster that struck the southwestern region of Poland. Archbishop Tadeusz Wojda, Chairman of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, called for nationwide donations on Sunday, September 22, to support those affected by the floods. Financial contributions collected after each Mass will be distributed to the victims through Caritas Polska.

    Church’s Response to the Crisis

Archbishop Wojda expressed deep sympathy for those affected, ensuring they are not left alone in this challenging time. He emphasized that while the Church provides spiritual support, material assistance is equally crucial. Caritas Polska has already begun its efforts to coordinate aid and relief for flood-affected areas.

To meet immediate needs, Caritas has allocated 200,000 PLN for urgent intervention. Donations can be made through BLIK or by contributing necessary supplies such as dehumidifiers, clean water, and generators. The public and companies alike are encouraged to get involved in relief efforts.

This collection is just one of many initiatives aimed at helping those whose homes, schools, and public infrastructure were damaged by the floods.
