Chełm Welcomes 2026 With a High-Energy New Year’s Eve Spectacle

Chełm, a city in eastern Poland, rang in the New Year with a large-scale open-air celebration that blended pop nostalgia, Eurodance classics, and contemporary party anthems. Branded Wystrzałowy Sylwester na Lubelszczyźnie, the event was organized and broadcast by Telewizja Republika, transforming Plac Niepodległości into a brightly lit, music-driven gathering place for thousands of attendees and millions more watching at home.

Held in Chełm, the show leaned heavily into dance-oriented entertainment and visual spectacle. Elaborate stage design, synchronized lighting, and laser effects underscored a TV production clearly designed with both live audiences and broadcast viewers in mind.

International and Polish Acts Share the Spotlight

The lineup mixed international Eurodance names with a strong representation of Polish pop and disco polo, an intentional programming choice that appealed to multiple generations. Among the international guests were FUN FACTORY, CORONA (performing under the Corona Velvet banner), Mario Bischin, and FANCY, who revisited his signature hit “Flames of Love.”

Poland’s dance scene was represented by a long list of crowd favorites. The audience responded enthusiastically to performances by Weekend, Bayer Full, Playboys, M.I.G, and Afterparty. Additional energy came from Defis, Topky, Valdi, and Power Play.

The program also made room for more sentimental moments. Veteran acts Kombi Łosowski and Papa Dance delivered songs that bridged generational divides, reminding audiences why their catalogues remain fixtures of Polish pop culture. Other performers included Elwira Mejk, Iness, Darek Kordek, Exaited, Extazy, Jorrgus, and Milano.

Hosts, Broadcast, and a Nationwide Countdown

The evening was guided by a team of presenters from TV Republika – Anna Popek, Natalia Rzeźniczak, Ilona Januszewska, Karol Gnat, Rafał Patyra, and Adrian Borecki – who kept the pacing brisk and the tone unmistakably festive.

Beyond the square in Chełm, the event reached a nationwide and international audience through a simultaneous broadcast on TV Republika’s main TV channel, its YouTube stream, and the station’s website. Viewers at home were invited to join the live countdown to midnight, collectively welcoming the arrival of 2026.
