The Związek Żołnierzy NSZ and the Institute of National Remembrance are organizing national celebrations to honor the 80th anniversary of the Świętokrzyska Brigade’s formation. The event will begin with a mass at the Field Cathedral of the Polish Army at 10:00 AM on August 11, 2024.
Honoring the Świętokrzyska Brigade
After the mass, participants will gather for a reception, followed by a ceremonial bus ride to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The commemoration will feature the Polish national anthem, a ceremonial guard change by the Warsaw Garrison, and speeches in honor of the Brigade’s legacy.
The Świętokrzyska Brigade was formed from National Armed Forces (NSZ) partisan units in the Świętokrzyskie and Lublin regions. Established on August 11, 1944, under Colonel Antoni Szacki, the Brigade’s mission was to secure territories along the Oder and Lusatian Neisse rivers for post-war Poland.
