The Polish embassy in Stockholm has informed that the Swedish daily “Svenska Dagbladet” has rectified the use of the phrase “Polish death camp Auschwitz” to “German Nazi death camp Auschwitz” in a film review.
According to Michał Kapusciński from the Polish embassy, the correction was made following the Polish side’s intervention. However, he noted that the newspaper had already amended the fragment in its online edition prior to their involvement.
Poland has been actively expressing its objections to the media’s utilization of the phrase “Polish death camps” when referring to the German concentration camps situated on Polish soil, which were under Nazi Germany’s occupation during World War II. These protests aim to address historical accuracy and prevent any misrepresentation of Poland’s involvement in the events of that era.
