Dawid B. – the stepfather of 8-year-old Kamilek – was sentenced by the Regional Court in Częstochowa to 25 years in prison, among other charges, for murder. The boy’s mother, convicted of assisting in the killing and of abuse, is to serve 16 years in prison. The verdict is not final.
The trial began on June 30, 2025. It was held behind closed doors. The District Prosecutor’s Office in Gdańsk charged Dawid B. with the murder of his 8-year-old stepson, Kamil M. – committed under conditions of recidivism, with particular cruelty, and driven by motives deserving special condemnation.
In court, the man was sentenced to 25 years of imprisonment.
He repeatedly abused the child
On March 29, 2023, in Częstochowa, where the family lived, Dawid B. poured boiling water over 8-year-old Kamil, beat him with his fists and a shower head across his entire body, and then threw the child onto a red-hot coal stove. The child suffered a broken arm and burns covering 25 percent of his body. The boy died after 35 days of fighting for his life.
Earlier, Dawid B. had repeatedly abused his stepson, including burning him with cigarettes. He also abused the other children, for whom he was either the biological father or stepfather.
The mother of 8-year-old Kamil, charged with abusing the child and assisting her husband in committing the murder, was sentenced by the court to 16 years of imprisonment.
