Cyberattack Hits Polish Space Agency Systems, Authorities Investigate Perpetrator

A recent cyberattack on the systems of the Polish Space Agency (POLSA) has prompted an investigation by cybersecurity services. Polish Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski announced on the social media platform X that officials have detected unauthorized access to POLSA’s telecommunication infrastructure.

Gawkowski assured the public that the affected systems have been secured. The Computer Security Incident Response Teams of NASK (CSIRT NASK) and the Ministry of National Defense (CSIRT MON) are working with POLSA to restore the agency’s full operational capacity. Concurrently, authorities have intensified efforts to identify those responsible for the breach.

POLSA confirmed the cybersecurity incident, indicating that all relevant agencies have been informed and that an immediate disconnection from the internet has been implemented to protect data. The Polish Space Agency, an executive body under the Ministry of Development and Technology established in 2014, plays a key role in supporting the country’s space industry and collaborates internationally on space exploration and utilization.
