Czarnek Addresses the Government: “What Is This About? Where Is the Money?

At the very beginning of the 54th session of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, MP Przemysław Czarnek took the floor. The Law and Justice (PiS) candidate for prime minister accused the government of a collapse in public finances.

“Mr. Marshal, High House! Did you see the sheer fear on the faces of that side of the chamber during Anna Gembicka’s speech? Sheer fear. It will not help you – everything will come to light!” Czarnek began, referring to his party colleague’s remarks on the pedophilia scandal in Kłodzko.

“What will also come to light is what you are doing with public finances. Over 80 billion in the budget deficit as of March 17 – is that true, Minister Domański, or not? We will see on April 15. 48.5 billion at the end of February. VAT revenues are 7 billion lower than they should have been in February, despite rising prices, unbelievable inflation, and supposedly we have GDP growth. What is this about? Where is the money?” he asked.

“We have submitted a motion, ladies and gentlemen, for information from the Prime Minister on the collapse of public finances, but the Prime Minister is not here. You will probably send someone like Szłapka or someone else to lie again. I wonder if he will apologize again… I wonder if he will apologize again!” he continued.

“Public finances are collapsing, and they offer people fuel that is a few groszy cheaper. Shame! You must step down!” he concluded.
