“Excellent discussions on the prospects for economic cooperation in nuclear energy, as well as on the gas hub Poland is set to become—also thanks to support from the United States,” said Prof. Przemysław Czarnek, describing his meeting with associates of U.S. President Donald Trump. The Law and Justice (PiS) candidate for prime minister is currently visiting the United States.
On May 1, Polish President Karol Nawrocki published a statement online highlighting the tangible outcomes of recent talks between Poland and the United States.
“The results of several months of Polish-American discussions, including the latest round of the Poland–U.S. Strategic Dialogue, are encouraging. Poland has a real opportunity to become an LNG hub in Central Europe. We have diversified our energy sources and supply routes—today we can also strengthen the security of our partners and allies in the region,” President Nawrocki emphasized.
“Energy security and cooperation in this area are now one of the pillars of the Polish-American strategic partnership, strengthening our economies and our shared security. This is no coincidence, but the result of consistent policy: from my meeting with President Trump at the White House on September 3, through talks in Davos in January and the recent Three Seas Initiative Summit in Dubrovnik, to ongoing cooperation at multiple levels,” the head of state added.
Talks with Trump’s circle
Since yesterday, Prof. Przemysław Czarnek, PiS’s candidate for prime minister, has been on a visit to the United States.
On Saturday, he met with members of the Polish diaspora associated with the Polish-American Sobieski Club in Palm Beach.
Later that evening, he held talks in Mar-a-Lago with representatives of the American business community and associates of Donald Trump.
“Excellent discussions on the prospects for economic cooperation in nuclear energy, as well as on the gas hub Poland is set to become—also thanks to support from the United States,” Czarnek said in a recording published on platform X.
He added: “All of this is now behind me and ahead of me in terms of putting it into practice. I would like to thank everyone for the meeting and those who organized it. I also thank Donald Trump’s associates for being there and for listening to me.”
Speaking on TV Republika, PiS deputy spokesperson Mateusz Kurzejewski stressed that Prof. Czarnek “has launched a new phase of the pre-campaign—focused on international matters. He has embarked on a several-day visit to the United States.”
“Yesterday he attended a meeting at Mar-a-Lago with state and federal congressmen to discuss economic and business relations, but also to reaffirm that the Polish-American alliance remains steadfast. The turbulence we are currently experiencing—caused by the most anti-American prime minister in the history of the Third Republic, Donald Tusk—will soon pass. The Polish-American alliance is fundamental and crucial for us, also for security and economic reasons,” he said.
