In a survey conducted by SW Research on behalf of rp.pl, Poles were asked: “In your opinion, will the current governing coalition in Poland — Civic Coalition, Third Way (PSL and Poland 2050), and the Left — last until the end of the Sejm’s term in autumn 2027?” The results are likely to come as a surprise to Donald Tusk and his coalition partners.
On Wednesday, a vote of confidence in the government is scheduled to take place. Donald Tusk aims to use this opportunity to demonstrate that he retains authority and influence, while also reinforcing discipline among the coalition partners.
However, according to the SW Research poll, as many as 39.2% of respondents believe the coalition will dissolve before the end of the term. In contrast, 32.1% are of the opposite opinion, while 28.7% remain undecided.
Last week, coalition leaders held a meeting followed by a joint press conference — notably without the presence of Donald Tusk. The media were instead addressed by Włodzimierz Czarzasty (New Left), Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz (PSL), and Szymon Hołownia (Poland 2050). The leader of the agrarian party assured the public that “the coalition is doing well,” while Hołownia noted that the coalition leaders had “made several decisions regarding how cooperation will be structured in the coming weeks.”
