Did Czarzasty consult his remarks about Trump with Sikorski? “Diplomatic bungling—something unbelievable”

“Włodzimierz Czarzasty is focused exclusively on party interests rather than the interests of the Polish state. This is something unbelievable,” said PiS MP Jan Kanthak on the program High Voltage on TV Republika.

Czarzasty’s dangerous ties

According to findings by Gazeta Polska, Sejm Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty sat for two years on the parliamentary committee for special services despite not having undergone the vetting procedure conducted by the Internal Security Agency (ABW). Controversy also surrounds the contacts of Włodzimierz Czarzasty and his spouse with a Russian citizen involved in trading works of art, employed by an auction house linked to Russia’s largest bank under Kremlin control.

On February 5, the United States Ambassador to Poland, Tom Rose, announced the immediate suspension of all relations with Czarzasty. The decision was connected, among other things, to the Sejm Marshal’s refusal to support a motion to award the U.S. president the Peace Prize. As the ambassador emphasized, “outrageous and unjustified insults directed at President Donald Trump have seriously damaged our excellent relations with Prime Minister Tusk and his government.”

Did Czarzasty consult his words with Sikorski?

Polsat News revealed that Czarzasty was said to have consulted his remarks regarding a Nobel Prize for Donald Trump with Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski.

“Włodzimierz Czarzasty had a prepared position, which he consulted and then read out,” said Dorota Gawryluk.

This information was commented on in a post on platform X by PiS MP Paweł Jabłoński.

“If it is true that Włodzimierz Czarzasty’s statement received approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then the matter is far more serious than it seemed. Tusk is deliberately worsening relations with the U.S. to lead to the withdrawal of 🇺🇸 troops from Poland and to have a pretext for supporting EU centralization,” he assessed.

“Something unbelievable”

The issue was discussed on the program High Voltage on TV Republika.

“Włodzimierz Czarzasty is focused exclusively on party interests, not the interests of the Polish state. This is something unbelievable,” said PiS MP Jan Kanthak.

He also drew attention to a temporal coincidence.

“How is it that at the time when Gazeta Polska publishes a very strong piece about Mr. Czarzasty’s very strange connections, the U.S. embassy takes such a firm stance? Is this linked solely to Mr. Czarzasty’s post, or do the Americans know something more that they obviously cannot say? It is very strange that Mr. Czarzasty, as a member of the special services committee, did not submit to vetting. Every MP undergoes such checks. The only person who does not is Mr. Czarzasty. Please draw your own conclusions as to why Czarzasty avoids it. This loophole in the law should be closed,” he emphasized.

Referring to unofficial information that Czarzasty’s statement had allegedly been coordinated with the Foreign Ministry, he said: “Either diplomatic bungling—or something even worse.”

Meanwhile, Karol Rabenda, an undersecretary of state at the Chancellery of the President, pointed out that “the political consequences of Mr. Czarzasty holding the office of Sejm Marshal are very significant.”

“I wouldn’t overestimate the role of the marshal; this looks more like clumsiness in politics than deliberate actions. A Sejm Marshal meddling in international politics is stepping beyond the role. The fact that Czarzasty became marshal is Donald Tusk’s responsibility. The president has said many times that this is a bad idea,” he declared.
