Diplomatic Offensive from the Presidency. Andruszkiewicz to the PM: Time to Get to Work

Adam Andruszkiewicz, Deputy Head of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, called on the government to end attacks on President Karol Nawrocki and to begin cooperation on security matters. In an extensive social media post, he assessed the President’s diplomatic activity in the autumn and outlined a vision for Poland’s role in the new geopolitical reality.

The Deputy Head of the Presidential Chancellery summarized President Nawrocki’s international activity in the autumn, calling it a “diplomatic offensive in key places.” Visits to Finland, the Baltic states, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and the strategic trip to the United States were, in Andruszkiewicz’s view, meant to put allied relations as a priority and propose close cooperation among the countries of Central Europe.

A Key Visit to the United States

Particularly significant was the visit to the United States, during which President Donald Trump publicly declared that American forces would remain in Poland. The Deputy Head of the Chancellery emphasized the importance of this assurance in the context of the current announcements coming from Washington about reducing the U.S. military presence in Europe.

Andruszkiewicz presented his vision of Poland’s position on the international stage. According to him, Warsaw should become a keystone and bridge of the European north-south axis on the eastern flank of the continent. “The classic nodding along to Western leaders, typical of those currently in power, is no longer enough. On one hand, relations with allied countries in the Baltic Sea region and the countries in the southeast of Europe must be absolutely intensified,” he wrote.

Andruszkiewicz also emphasized the need for domestic reorganization. “Without national consolidation we will absolutely not gain the potential for effective external actions,” he pointed out.

“So, Prime Minister…”

The Deputy Head of the Chancellery issued a direct appeal to the Prime Minister, calling on the government to end daily attacks on the President, unblock the possibility for security service chiefs to meet with the President, take the President’s remarks into account in ambassadorial nominations, begin talks on the future development of the Polish Armed Forces, and introduce universal military and civil training.

“So, Prime Minister, instead of writing empty incantations on X, it’s time to get to work. The ‘end of history’ era definitively ended several years ago, although I have the impression that unfortunately it still continues in the minds of many political leaders. And Poland may pay the highest price for this, once again repeating the painful lessons of its history,”

Andruszkiewicz concluded.
