There was no prosecutor’s office leak in the Civic Platform pedophile case. Investigation dropped after three years

The District Prosecutor’s Office in Płock has discontinued its investigation into the alleged disclosure of confidential information from the criminal proceedings involving convicted pedophile Krzysztof F., a former representative of Civic Platform (PO) politician Olgierd Geblewicz and an LGBT activist from Szczecin, journalist Tomasz Duklanowski of Gazeta Polska wrote on social media today.

In December 2022, Tomasz Duklanowski of Radio Szczecin revealed the case of Krzysztof F., a former Civic Platform activist, longtime representative of West Pomeranian Voivodeship Marshal Olgierd Geblewicz for addiction issues, and an LGBT activist who actively supported the election campaign of Civic Platform deputy leader Rafał Trzaskowski. In his report, Duklanowski did not disclose any identifying information about the victims of the convicted sex offender. He only wrote that the victims included the children of a well-known member of parliament. He also emphasized that Krzysztof F. had been convicted by a final court judgment and was serving a prison sentence.

The journalist was subjected to harassment, stigmatization, and even death threats. Some of the harshest accusations against him were also made by politicians from the then-opposition.

Today, Duklanowski announced on social media that the District Prosecutor’s Office in Płock had discontinued the investigation into the alleged disclosure of confidential information from the proceedings concerning convicted pedophile Krzysztof F., the former representative of Marshal Geblewicz from the Civic Coalition (KO) and an LGBT activist from Szczecin.

The journalist pointed out that, according to allegations made by Civic Coalition politicians, he was supposed to have received illegally obtained information about the former Civic Platform activist from MP Dariusz Matecki and former Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro.

“During the three-year investigation, no evidence supporting those claims was found,” Tomasz Duklanowski wrote.

After three years, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Płock discontinued the investigation on the grounds of a “lack of elements constituting a prohibited act.” No evidence was found indicating that the prosecutor’s office had disclosed confidential information from the investigation. The injured party appealed the decision, but the Szczecin-Prawobrzeże and Zachód District Court upheld the prosecutors’ ruling. As a result, the proceedings have been definitively and lawfully closed.
