Natalia Kałucka clinched the European championship title in speed climbing in Villars, Switzerland. She defeated fellow Polish climber Patrycja Chudziak in the final, showcasing her exceptional skills once again. Another Polish competitor, Anna Brożek, was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Chudziak. Kałucka adds this victory to her impressive collection, including a gold at the 2021 World Championships and a bronze at the 2022 European Championships. She also won gold at last year’s European Games in Poland.
Polish Dominance in Villars
The Polish climbers performed exceptionally well from the start in Villars. Kałucka recorded the best time in the qualifications, with Chudziak second and Brożek seventh. Both Kałucka and Chudziak advanced smoothly to the semifinals, defeating their Italian opponents convincingly. In the final, Kałucka clocked an impressive 6.98 seconds, while Chudziak fell. Italy’s Giulia Randi took the bronze.
Men’s Competition Highlights
In the men’s competition, Italy’s Ludovico Fossali triumphed over teammate Matteo Zurloni, while Spain’s Erik Noya Cardona secured the bronze. Poland’s Marcin Dzieński was knocked out in the quarterfinals by Fossali.
