Police officers from the Opole region are securing the site where a drone was found in a forest in Strzelce County. The unmanned aerial vehicle was discovered by a man out for a walk. Access to the area has been restricted.
“Today, shortly after 11:00 a.m., the duty officer of the County Police Headquarters in Strzelce Opolskie received a report from a man who, while walking in a forest complex in Strzelce County, found an unmanned aerial vehicle (drone). A police patrol was immediately dispatched to the scene and confirmed the report,” Opole Police said on social media.
Officers added that “the area has been secured and access to the site has been restricted — entry is prohibited for unauthorized persons.”
“All activities are being carried out in accordance with applicable procedures. Efforts are currently underway to determine the origin and owner of the discovered drone,” the services informed.
The local outlet nto.pl has established that the object is a relatively large drone, with an elongated fuselage and a wingspan of დაახლოებით 1.5 meters. It was found in a forest near the village of Spórok.
The operation involves officers from the Strzelce Police, the Provincial Police Headquarters in Opole, as well as a specialized police unit (SPKP) from Katowice, and firefighters from Strzelce Opolskie and Kędzierzyn-Koźle.
