“There’s a conclusion to the story of the pathological senator. He faced no consequences from Szymon Hołownia or Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska,” announced PiS MP Dariusz Matecki. He was referring to an incident from February of this year, when Left-wing Senator Maciej Kopiec aggressively threatened an opposition politician using vulgar language.
Shocking Behavior Caught on Camera
A video published by Matecki in February captured Senator Maciej Kopiec hurling expletives at a fellow parliamentarian. According to the context of the post, the target may have been a member of either the Confederation or the ruling PiS party.
“Sleep, you fing criminal. Yeah, yeah… sleep, you fing wh**e,” the senator can be heard slurring, cigarette in hand.
His slurred speech and erratic conduct strongly suggested he may have been intoxicated.
No Disciplinary Action Taken
Today, MP Matecki revealed how “the story of the pathological senator” ultimately ended—with no consequences for Kopiec.
“He didn’t face any repercussions from Szymon Hołownia or Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska. Instead, the Speaker of the Sejm fired a receptionist—who Kopiec had assaulted, filmed, and who was trying to calm him down,” Matecki stated.
He emphasized that “Kopiec not only insulted MPs from PiS and Confederation, nearly burned out a Confederation MP’s eye with his cigarette—but also attacked a receptionist, pushing his phone into her face.”
“Well done, ever-smiling Speaker Hołownia! I have many more recordings of this, and the Marshal’s Guard has even more. It’s so easy for you to dock opposition MPs’ salaries, but Kopiec hasn’t faced a single sanction. Nothing,” he concluded.
