It has now been confirmed that the questions asked by Dorota Wysocka-Schnepf during the presidential debate on TVP in liquidation were leaked ahead of the event. This raises serious concerns that campaign teams—particularly those aligned with the journalist from the government-run broadcaster—may have had prior access to them.
During the debate, each moderator was assigned two questions—one on domestic policy and one on international affairs. Suspicions about leaks arose as early as the first question posed by Wysocka-Schnepf, as noted in earlier reports. Now, those suspicions have been validated.
The second question she asked was identical to one that had already circulated among journalists before the debate began. The two questions were as follows:
DOMESTIC AFFAIRS
“Poland is experiencing a dramatic population decline. In 75 years, the population may fall below 20 million. At the same time, research shows that Polish women are choosing not to have children due to fears surrounding anti-abortion laws that threaten their lives. This means the demographic crisis is closely linked to those laws. What do you intend to do to change this?”
INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS
“Donald Trump has imposed a 20% tariff on all goods from the European Union, including from Poland. After the EU threatened retaliatory measures, the tariffs were suspended for three months for negotiations. If implemented, however, they will hit consumers hard—including in Poland. How should Europe respond to Trump’s trade war?”
Since these questions were in the possession of journalists ahead of time, it is highly likely that at least some of the candidates’ campaign teams had access to them as well.
