Examining Poland’s Stand: Voluntary vs. Forced Relocation of Illegal Immigrants

At the invitation of Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, a meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s office on the EU mechanism for the forced relocation of illegal immigrants to Poland. Some of the opposition, including the Civic Platform, did not show up to the meeting. The Polish government’s position is that the mechanism should be voluntary. Meanwhile, a project enabling a referendum to be held on the issue is being processed in the Polish Parliament.
