On Sunday, the Poles will face France in the 1/8 finals of the football World Cup in Qatar. Poland advanced to the knockout stage of the World Cup for the first time after 36 years.

The white and reds were ahead of Mexico and Saudi Arabia in the group. On Sunday, the Polish players will face the defending champions France at the start of the knockout stage, with the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Qatar at stake.

“France is the current football world champion. If Poles defeat the French team, they will certainly be able to call themselves world champions for a while,”

Polish national team’s coach Czesław Michniewicz said during the press conference.

“France will certainly dictate the pace but some teams managed to break them down. The Danes and Australia scored goals against them. This is an indication for us of how we want to play,” the coach said, who also admitted that in analysing the French team’s game he “did not find too many weak points.”
