Radical groups backing Rafał Trzaskowski continue to push the false narrative of a “stolen election.” Yet many of the alleged incidents crumble when confronted with the facts. And intriguingly, the few irregularities worth examining mirror situations that also affected Karol Nawrocki.
Politicians tied to Civic Platform and affiliated activist circles—such as the online movement “Silni Razem” (“Strong Together”)—have taken to social media to promote the idea that the presidential election, won by Law and Justice-backed candidate Dr. Karol Nawrocki, was rigged.
On Friday, we revealed how the narrative of supposed election fraud is being crafted. The claims mostly revolve around alleged inconsistencies in vote tally protocols from certain polling stations. However, as analysts have shown, any such discrepancies impacted both candidates, and their scale is negligible compared to the final margin between Karol Nawrocki and Rafał Trzaskowski.
Leading the charge is attorney Roman Giertych and his group “SnaW” (Election Network), who are circulating stories about swapped vote counts and lower turnout for Trzaskowski in the second round—claims meant to suggest that votes were taken away from the opposition candidate.
But Maciej Wilk, president of the “Yes to CPK” Association, presented a chart on X (formerly Twitter) comparing 48 voting precincts where Karol Nawrocki received fewer votes in the second round than the combined total he and the right-wing candidates Mentzen, Braun, and Jakubiak garnered in the first round—even though voter turnout was higher in the runoff.
To add to this, one incident ripe for conspiracy theories occurred at precinct no. 157 in Łódź. There, Nawrocki received 86 votes in the first round, but only 53 in the second—hardly a pattern that supports accusations of systematic manipulation in his favor.
