The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces announced on Saturday morning that the joint operation of Polish and allied air forces in Polish airspace has concluded. Once again, Russian long-range aviation targeted western Ukraine.
Fighter jets guarding Polish airspace near the Ukrainian border were scrambled once more. Initially, the Operational Command reported that it had “activated all available forces and resources at its disposal. On-call fighter jet pairs were launched, and ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems were placed on the highest state of readiness.”
Shortly before 6 a.m., the alarm was lifted, and the activated systems returned to their “standard operational activity.” The statement concluded with: “We thank our allies for their support.”
Another Night of Attacks
The Operational Command also stated that the Polish Armed Forces continue to closely monitor the situation in Ukrainian territory and remain in constant readiness to ensure the safety of Polish airspace.
Early Saturday morning, the Command reported that due to the activity of the Russian Federation’s long-range aviation, which was conducting strikes on targets including those in western Ukraine, Polish and allied air forces began operations in Polish airspace.
In accordance with established procedures, the Operational Command activated all available forces and resources. On-call fighter jet pairs were scrambled, while ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems were brought to the highest level of readiness.
