“Gazeta Polska” Clubs in Front of the Supreme Court Building. Bąkiewicz: I Appeal to You – Come to the Protest

Robert Bąkiewicz addressed those gathered in front of the Supreme Court, stating that he is defending the rule of law, free elections, freedom of speech, and the recognition of Karol Nawrocki’s election as President of Poland. He also appealed for people to come to the Supreme Court to stand up for the law.

Bąkiewicz asserted that the lack of a sufficient reaction was precisely what allowed Tusk and his people to unlawfully enter and take control of the National Council of the Judiciary (KRS), public media, and the prosecutor’s office.

Politicians from the Civic Coalition and legal circles affiliated with the Civic Platform openly question the legality of the procedure for confirming the validity of the election, conducted by the Chamber of Extraordinary Review and Public Affairs of the Supreme Court. Civic Coalition politicians are demanding a “recount of all votes” and raise concerns that there may have been “anomalies” or “errors” in the commission protocols.

Just before expected decisions regarding the validity of the elections, alarming warnings emerged in the public sphere from lawyers, suggesting an attempt by the authorities to overthrow the constitutional order. Supreme Court Judge Kamil Zaradkiewicz wrote:

“I am receiving information from many sources about a planned provocation in the Supreme Court tomorrow,” he wrote yesterday.

In response, another legal expert, Dr. Michał Sopiński, issued a warning:

“For an assault on a constitutional body – life imprisonment. And let no hand tremble,” he stated.

These warnings form the backdrop to the ongoing dispute over the status of the Chamber of Extraordinary Review. Some legal circles are attempting to challenge its authority to rule on the validity of presidential elections. The Constitutional Tribunal has already issued a position on this matter, emphasizing the full legality of the Supreme Court’s Chamber.
