Georgette Mosbacher Denies Yesterday’s Fake News, Calls Trump–Nawrocki Meeting a “Big Deal”

“President Trump does not meet one-on-one with many leaders. The invitation extended to the President of Poland less than a month after his inauguration, in my view, speaks very convincingly about how important President Nawrocki is and how important Poland is to the United States,” said former U.S. ambassador to Poland Georgette Mosbacher in an interview with TV Republika.

Georgette Mosbacher, former U.S. ambassador to Poland, was a guest on TV Republika. Yesterday she gave an interview which was presented in such a way as to suggest that the former ambassador believed Poland’s absence from the White House meeting of European leaders with Trump was “Poland’s fault.”

“It’s interesting you said ‘real television,’ because I was outraged by how mainstream and liberal media distorted and twisted what I said in my interview for Polsat. I was really furious,” Mosbacher began in her conversation with Edyta Hołdyńska.

So what was the reason for the absence of a Polish representative at the Washington meeting?

“The real reason was quite simple. This meeting was organized at the last minute. In just a few weeks, President Trump will meet with President Nawrocki one-on-one. At yesterday’s White House meeting, there were seven leaders. The President held a one-on-one only with Zelensky, and in a few weeks he will meet one-on-one with the Polish President,” Mosbacher explained.

In the former ambassador’s view, the Trump–Nawrocki meeting is a major event, considering the fact that President Nawrocki only recently took office.

“President Trump does not meet one-on-one with many leaders. The invitation extended to the President of Poland less than a month after his inauguration, in my view, speaks very convincingly about how important President Nawrocki is and how important Poland is to the United States,” Mosbacher emphasized, adding:

“I can say this for certain: President Trump and his administration were excited when President Nawrocki was elected. And it is very unusual for a U.S. president to invite a newly elected head of state to the Oval Office so quickly.”
