Germany is no longer as willing to grant asylum to immigrants. They prefer to send them to neighboring countries.
Is it a coincidence that Eisenhüttenstadt, near the Polish border, has the strictest asylum policies and the highest number of single men from Afghanistan? – writes journalist Aleksandra Fedorska on platform X, referring to an article on www.n-tv.de.
Uff czy to przypadek, że w Eisenhüttenstadt przy polskiej granicy jest najostrzej w sprawie azylu i jest tu najwiecej samotnych mężczyzn z Afganistanu?

The article discusses the situation of migrants in Eisenhüttenstadt. It turns out that every person whose asylum application has been rejected has the right to appeal.
However, in 2024, German administrative courts processed fewer asylum appeals than in previous years. This information comes from the federal government’s response to a parliamentary inquiry by the Left Party. The data shows that last year, only 18% of asylum seekers successfully appealed the decisions made by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).
Last year, courts overturned 24.4% of BAMF’s decisions. In 2022, the rate of overturned cases—excluding those dismissed for procedural reasons, such as case withdrawals—stood at 36.5%.
