Germany Wants to Flood Poland with Migrants. Brzeg Councilors Oppose Building Centers

During Thursday’s session, the Brzeg city council passed a resolution to prevent the creation of migrant centers in the municipality. This is a response to the Tusk government’s disastrous stance toward Berlin’s plans to mass-send migrants to Poland.

The draft resolution was initiated following a petition from Brzeg residents, submitted to the local office on December 30, 2024. On Thursday, councilors voted on the proposal, which states that no migrant centers should be established within the municipality.

Councilor Dariusz Socha, who presented the resolution, emphasized that it is—as he described—a “guideline,” as the establishment of migrant centers is regulated by other laws. However, considering the experiences of Western European countries like Denmark, the city council committee that prepared the draft deemed the resolution necessary and justified.

The resolution, which took effect immediately upon adoption, was passed without discussion. Sixteen councilors voted in favor, two abstained, and no one opposed.
