Gmyz: Germany shuts down Polish radio station, a breakdown of the Polish-German Treaty

“The public German broadcaster is shutting down the only radio station in Germany that broadcasts Polish-language programmes. Around 2 million Poles live in Germany”, warns journalist and commentator Cezary Gmyz.

The station in question is “COSMO”. As Gmyz points out, “its head, Jacek Tyblewski, harbours a deep, almost visceral hatred for everything to the right of Tusk. And he loves Germany with a great and pure love. Unfortunately, it appears to be unrequited”.

Meanwhile, the liquidation of Polish-language broadcasts constitutes a violation of Article 20 of the Polish-German Treaty, which states that both the German minority and Poles in Germany “shall have equal access to media in their region.”
