“From Minister Krajewski’s actions, we conclude that he agrees to the destruction of Polish agriculture. We will defend the Polish countryside. As early as tomorrow, at the request of the Law and Justice (PiS) Parliamentary Club, a debate on the dismissal of Minister Krajewski will take place,” stated Mariusz Błaszczak, an MP from Law and Justice (PiS). The politician stressed that the Mercosur agreement is “extremely harmful to Polish agriculture and serves exclusively German interests.”
Government Fails to File Motion with the CJEU on Mercosur. “Krajewski Agrees to the Destruction of Agriculture”
Lawmakers from Law and Justice (PiS) held a press conference today concerning what they described as the harmful EU-Mercosur agreement.
“A moment ago, MP Zbigniew Kuźmiuk presented Minister Krajewski with a prepared motion to the Court of Justice of the European Union, seeking to challenge the EU decision of January 9, which – based on provisional provisions – introduced the agreement with the Mercosur countries. This is an extremely harmful agreement for Polish agriculture, serving exclusively German interests,” Mariusz Błaszczak informed.
He reported that Stefan Krajewski “did not accept the motion, which means he does not intend to file a challenge regarding the Mercosur agreement.”
“From Minister Krajewski’s conduct, we conclude that he agrees to the destruction of Polish agriculture. We will defend the Polish countryside. As early as tomorrow, at the request of the Law and Justice (PiS) Parliamentary Club, a debate on the dismissal of Minister Krajewski will take place,” he recalled.
Antoni Macierewicz, in turn, assessed the situation as “dramatic – those in power are striving to liquidate Polish agriculture.”
“This is a tragedy for Poland and for Poland’s security. We are aware that the threat of war, in a situation where a country lacks its own agriculture, leads to a state catastrophe. They are acting against the farming community, but also against the whole of Poland. It is necessary for the Sejm to adopt a decision requiring the government to block the Mercosur agreement. The possibility of importing this food must be blocked. Other countries are making such decisions as well. This is absolutely necessary,” he emphasized.
