Government Representative: No Grounds for Investing in Bomb Shelters

Bomb shelters are unnecessary – this is the briefest way to sum up the remarks of a government representative in the field. The Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivode, Michał Sztybel, stated that today “wars are not fought in such a way that everyone has to go down into shelters all at once.”

„The experience of the war in the east shows that this issue must be approached wisely. We could spend billions of złoty to provide shelter for every resident, but the question arises as to whether this is justified, given that today wars are not conducted in such a way that all residents simultaneously have to descend into bomb shelters and hide there,” the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivode said in an interview with Radio PiK.

At the same time, he added that… “the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship will grow stronger thanks to investments in the area of security.”
