“Hands Off Our Democracy!” – Nawrocki Defends Election Victory and Challenges Tusk

“We are a nation that grows stronger when someone tries to take away our freedom and sovereignty. A civic movement has made it possible for me to take the oath of office on August 6 and become the President of Poland. I promise to be your voice — the voice of Poles that listens and serves the Polish national interest,” declared president-elect Karol Nawrocki during a family picnic held in Pułtusk.

This afternoon, the town of Pułtusk hosted a patriotic family picnic titled “Poland Has Won.” The event featured several Law and Justice (PiS) politicians and was headlined by the newly elected president, Karol Nawrocki.

Nawrocki: Poland Has Won

Speaking to supporters, Nawrocki opened with heartfelt thanks to those who helped secure his victory in the second round of the presidential election.

“On June 1st, Poland won — and I thank you for that! I thank you for never leaving my side, not even for a second, in the months that followed, as we marched together toward victory. It was a campaign with no financial resources — funds that were unlawfully taken away. My main opponent enjoyed the backing of foreign entities and media. It felt like we were surrounded. But with each passing day, we believed the civic uprising would allow us to choose our own president — and it did.”

The president-elect then turned his attention to the December 13 coalition, which continues to challenge the legitimacy of the election results, alleging fraud without providing evidence.

“We are a nation that grows stronger when our freedom and sovereignty are threatened. A civic movement has made it possible for me to take the oath on August 6 and become the President of Poland. I promise to be your voice — the voice of Polish women and men, a voice that listens and upholds the Polish raison d’état. We will build a safe and aspirational Poland. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for never doubting our shared victory. Thank you to everyone who contributed financially, to those who helped me travel 100,000 kilometers across Poland. You were the fuel that powered this campaign, and I am deeply grateful.”

Nawrocki’s Message to Tusk

The president-elect also issued a pointed appeal to Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

“Mr. Prime Minister, the future President of Poland will not allow our democracy or the people’s right to elect their head of state to be taken away! It’s time to abandon the hysteria, stop undermining Polish democracy, and begin working with the next President of Poland. This is a free, sovereign, and independent Poland, and its people have chosen their president. This is our shared victory — a victory for a safe, normal, and ambitious Poland. From August 6, the responsibility for fostering dialogue will be ours. Our victory was made possible also by those who voted with the hope that I love Poland and will create a space for essential, fundamental issues. That is the kind of president I want to be — a president of dialogue. We want to build a Poland for those who love and respect it.”
