“President Karol Nawrocki met at the Presidential Palace with the Chair of the National Council of the Judiciary, Dagmara Pawełczyk-Woicka, and then with the Disciplinary Officer for Judges of the Common Courts, Piotr Schab, and his deputies: Przemysław Radzik and Michał Lasota,” the Chancellery of the President of Poland announced on X. As emphasized in the post, the meetings addressed “the situation in the National Council of the Judiciary, including government actions directed against this institution and against the disciplinary officers.”
Immediately after the visit to the Presidential Palace, the head of the Council declared in a short post on X:
“Soon the ship of legal terrorists will begin to sink! Kind regards!”
On Monday, the Presidium of the National Council of the Judiciary authorized the Chair to file a complaint regarding the recent search of offices at the Council’s headquarters. A notification is also to be submitted to the prosecutor’s office in connection with the fact that the actions of the police and prosecutors prevented Council members from carrying out their work. In a resolution published on Monday, the Presidium described the events of January 21 as “the forcible entry of police officers and prosecutors into the premises of the National Council of the Judiciary and the search of rooms therein, along with the seizure of files from disciplinary proceedings.”
