Healthcare system in crisis: “Many Poles could be left to die”

Law and Justice (PiS) candidate for prime minister, Przemysław Czarnek, spoke on TV Republika about cuts in the healthcare system. He pointed out that by the end of March, some hospitals are already running out of funds for medical services. “This means that many Poles will simply be condemned to death,” the politician warned.

Speaking in the TV Republika studio, Przemysław Czarnek said that, according to his sources, some hospitals in the Lublin region are already lacking funds for treatments and orthopedic surgeries, and it is only the end of March.

“To cure anyone, you first need to make a proper diagnosis. It is impossible to make a correct diagnosis without diagnostic tests – MRI scans, CT scans, gastroscopy, or colonoscopy. These are all essential examinations needed to detect diseases, including the most dangerous ones such as cancer, at an early stage, giving a chance for treatment. Only half of the tests that have been carried out so far will continue to be performed. This means that many Poles will simply be condemned to death,”

said the PiS candidate for prime minister, Przemysław Czarnek.

“And those in power act as if nothing is happening, as if everything is fine,” Czarnek emphasized.

“Donald Tusk calls this cost rationalization. This is not a rationalization; it is taking money away from hospitals and healthcare facilities so that Poles will not receive treatment. This is a long-standing practice of the Civic Platform. It is nothing new, Bartosz Arłukowicz was the minister of health and also spoke about closing hospitals and reducing services,”

the politician said.

As he noted, the current minister of health allegedly aspires to privatize the healthcare system and believes that 30% of hospitals should be closed.

“Restricting diagnostic testing is being called rationalization. This is a crime for which they will have to be held accountable. They have no plan to fix the healthcare system,”

he added.
