Hołownia Says There’s No Grounds to Dispute the Election Outcome

“There is no reason at this point to challenge the election results announced by the National Electoral Commission,” said Sejm Speaker Szymon Hołownia, addressing growing narratives pushed by politicians from the Civic Coalition and the activist group “Silni Razem” about alleged election fraud.

Hołownia: ‘Nothing warrants questioning the results’

In a post published on the X platform, Speaker Hołownia commented on accusations made by “Silni Razem” supporters, who claim the presidential election may have been manipulated.

“Every protest deserves consideration, but so far, nothing provides grounds to dispute the results announced by the National Electoral Commission. If the Supreme Court confirms the validity of the election, I will convene the National Assembly on August 6th to receive the oath of office from President Karol Nawrocki,” Hołownia wrote.

He emphasized that “in a democracy, the will of the people is sacred.”

Allegations of ‘fraud’

The presidential election was narrowly won by Karol Nawrocki, the candidate supported by Law and Justice (PiS), who secured 50.89% of the vote. His opponent, Civic Coalition candidate Rafał Trzaskowski, received 49.11%.

Nawrocki’s victory drew immediate criticism from politicians associated with the December 13 Coalition and the “Silni Razem” movement, who quickly began spreading claims of possible irregularities following the official results announced by the National Electoral Commission.

The accusations centered on alleged errors in the tally protocols of some local election commissions. However, analyses show that any discrepancies affected both candidates and were statistically insignificant compared to Nawrocki’s margin of victory.
