How Is Tusk Pushing America Out of Poland? Morawiecki Presents a Report

“Poland needs the USA, and the USA needs Poland. Let us not allow Tusk to push America out of Europe,” wrote Mateusz Morawiecki on X. He added in the Sejm, “This is an exceptional, historic moment – a moment in which we can raise Poland’s level of security to areas we truly have not reached for a long time.”

The politician’s reaction follows remarks made by Prime Minister Donald Tusk a few days earlier. Tusk described the plan to withdraw American troops from Germany and redeploy them to Poland as “a delicate matter”; he stressed that he does not want to “poach” them.

“This is not just another ordinary political moment. This is not merely a typical dispute between the opposition and the government. This is an exceptional, historic moment – a moment in which we can raise Poland’s level of security to areas we truly have not reached for a long time. One could go back 400 years to find a time when we were as secure as we can be now, but there is one condition. That condition is the permanent presence of allied forces, American forces, NATO forces on the territory of the Republic of Poland. We must not push our allies away. I often emphasize how important this security triad is, this three-legged structure of security,” stated Mateusz Morawiecki during a press conference in the Sejm.

“We are saying this clearly – a permanent base of American troops in Poland, what President Nawrocki secured on September 3 at the White House last year, permanent infrastructure, permanent divisional command, permanent equipment, permanent storage, a permanent presence in every respect will change the security landscape of the Republic of Poland,” he continued.

“Meanwhile, the current prime minister, my successor, speaks about poaching soldiers, about European solidarity and not undermining it. These words about poaching will become a symbol of very bad policy – they will go down in history and be recorded in black letters as the words of either a political failure, or someone acting in bad faith, or something even worse. What kind of poaching is Mr. Tusk talking about? What is he even referring to?” the former prime minister stressed.

The Zespół Pracy dla Polski (PiS) has prepared a report titled “How Is Tusk Pushing America Out of Poland?”
