Poland’s top-ranked tennis player, Hubert Hurkacz, continues his remarkable run in the Cincinnati ATP tournament, securing a spot in the quarterfinals. After eliminating last year’s champion, Borna Coric, Hurkacz faced off against finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas, triumphing with a commanding 6-3, 6-4 victory.

Hurkacz’s journey to the quarters showcased his prowess. He reached the third round by overcoming Thanasii Kokkinakis and Borna Coric, both matches going the distance. Notably, his encounter with Tsitsipas marked the 10th face-off between the two players, with Hurkacz emerging victorious this time through dominant serves and strategic control.

Despite a tense opening gem, where Tsitsipas held a breakpoint, Hurkacz swiftly took command, breaking early in both sets and maintaining control on his serves. His confident play allowed him to close out games cleanly, conceding minimal opportunities to his opponent. The final score stood at 6-3, 6-4 in favor of Hurkacz.

In the quarterfinals, Hurkacz is set to challenge Australia’s Alexei Popyrin, ranked 58th in the ATP rankings.
