Hubert Hurkacz and Tommy Paul have played the 3rd round match of the ATP 1000 tournament in Indian Wells. Paul outlasts Hurkacz 4-6 6-2 6-4, equaling his best result in the desert by reaching R4.
The match lasted just over 2 hours on Court no. 2. Hurkacz won the first set 6-4, and the deciding one to 30. Unfortunately, then the Pole lost to the American 2-6 in the second set and 4-6 in the third set.
It was not a good day for the Polish tennis player. Hurkacz did not gain an advantage in key moments of the match and, unfortunately, he was quickly defeated by a lower-ranked rival.
The two tennis players have met only once so far, in November 2021, at a tournament in Paris. Then, after a fierce match, the Pole won 7-5, 7-6.
