Hurkacz’s Heartbreak: ATP 500 Bid Dashed in Dubai Quarterfinals

Hubert Hurkacz’s quest for the ATP 500 final in Dubai ended abruptly as he squandered three match points in the quarterfinals, losing to Ugo Humbert 6-3, 6-7 (8), 3-6.

The Polish player started strongly, breaking his opponent early and dominating with swift serves, preventing Humbert from gaining traction. Despite committing nine unforced errors in the first set, Hurkacz claimed it 6-3 in just 37 minutes.

However, Humbert staged a comeback in the second set, forcing a tie-breaker which he won after Hurkacz missed opportunities. The third set saw Hurkacz’s energy wane, leading to a loss of serve and missed chances to recover, ultimately conceding the match 6-3.
