“I expect an immediate response from the Polish government. The German ambassador should be summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the German side should publicly apologize and explain why the memory of Polish victims was treated in this way,” stated Prof. Przemysław Czarnek, a prime ministerial candidate of Law and Justice (PiS).
German police officers beat Poles
Members of the Border Defense Movement arrived today in Berlin at a boulder located near the Bundestag, which is meant to commemorate Polish victims of World War II. They intended to place a symbolic cross there, but were met with a firm and brutal reaction from German police.
Czarnek: “I expect an immediate response from the Polish government”
Prof. Przemysław Czarnek, a prime ministerial candidate of Law and Justice (PiS), commented on the shocking incident in a post published on platform X.
“In Berlin, German police are brutally intervening against Poles who want to honor the memory of victims of German crimes. A state responsible for World War II is unable to show elementary respect for the memory of its victims”, he indicated.
The politician added that “such actions discredit the German authorities”. He emphasized that “if in the capital of Germany Poles are prevented from paying tribute to murdered compatriots, we are dealing with something more than just an administrative awkwardness”.
“I expect an immediate response from the Polish government. The German ambassador should be summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the German side should publicly apologize and explain why the memory of Polish victims was treated in this way”, he stated.
Prof. Czarnek also recalled that “millions of Poles were murdered by Germany – their memory is not subject to negotiation”.
