Sakiewicz Full of Praise for Adam Borowski: “Our Showcase”

TV Republika CEO Tomasz Sakiewicz spoke warmly on air about Adam Borowski, chairman of the Warsaw Gazeta Polska Club. He placed him alongside such renowned defenders of civil rights as the late Jan Olszewski and the late Zbigniew Romaszewski.

The discussion about Adam Borowski arose during a broadcast on TV Republika. As Michał Jelonek of TV Republika noted, the chairman of the Warsaw Gazeta Polska Club “is also paying the price for being active and for showing what we are really dealing with.”

Sakiewicz responded to those remarks with extensive praise for Borowski. He said that if he were to name civic activists devoted to defending civil rights, several names would immediately come to mind.

“If there has ever been a civic activist dedicated to defending civil rights in Poland, I would undoubtedly name two people. One was the late attorney Jan Olszewski, who took on the defense of many people with whom he often disagreed. The second was the late Zbigniew Romaszewski, who truly knew how to defend people in a variety of situations during the communist era,” Sakiewicz said.

As the third person – although not a lawyer – he named Adam Borowski. “He decided to stand up against every form of social and political evil. He has his own opinions and can often be difficult, but he does not tolerate people being wronged,” the TV Republika CEO said.

Sakiewicz also recalled that he had welcomed Borowski’s appointment as head of the Warsaw Gazeta Polska Club several years ago.

“When he agreed to become the head of the Warsaw Gazeta Polska Club, I was simply delighted. I knew there could be no better choice for the leader of a club that has to serve as our showcase,” he concluded.
