    Iga Świątek Secures 21st Consecutive Victory with Dominant Win Over Petra Martić

    Iga Świątek triumphed over Petra Martić in the second round of Wimbledon, marking her 21st consecutive victory. Świątek won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, demonstrating her continued dominance on the court. 

    The match began evenly with short exchanges and a brief scare when Martić dropped to one knee but recovered. The turning point came in the seventh game when Świątek served an ace and a smash to lead 4-3. In the ninth game, Świątek, starting at 40-0 and extending to deuce, closed with a precise slice, securing the first set 6-4 by reducing errors and exploiting Martić’s weaknesses.

    The second set mirrored the first, with both players holding their serves initially (3-2). As the match progressed, Świątek’s performance became even more impressive, showcasing her versatile play both from the service line and at the net.

    Świątek will face Kazakhstan’s Yulia Putintseva in the next round. Putintseva advanced by defeating the 27th-seed, Czech player Katerina Siniakova, in a three-set battle, 6-0, 4-6, 6-2.
