Innowatorium, organized by the Łukasiewicz Research Network, is Poland’s premier research and development event, fostering collaboration between businesses and scientists.
Held for the third time in the capital of Wielkopolska, Poznań, the gathering highlights the city’s dynamic Poznań Institute of Technology, one of the network’s thriving institutions. While many may be unaware, Poland is home to the production of jet engines, and GE Aerospace Poland has been collaborating with the Institute of Aviation, now part of the Łukasiewicz Research Network, for 23 years. This fruitful partnership was recently honored with the Ignac statuette, awarded by Łukasiewicz to its business partners.
Bridging Science and Business at Innowatorium
At Innowatorium, business leaders and scientists from Łukasiewicz come together to explore new possibilities. The choice of Poznań as the event’s host is not coincidental. Over a century ago, the city hosted its first trade fair, connecting merchants and companies from around the world. Today, it serves as a meeting point for science and business. Dr. Arkadiusz Kawa, Director of Łukasiewicz – Poznań Institute of Technology, emphasizes the significance of this convergence.
Innovation Unveiled: The E-Park and Beyond
Recently, the Łukasiewicz – Poznań Institute of Technology unveiled the e-pak, an intelligent, reusable packaging solution for courier shipments. This project exemplifies the autonomous initiatives undertaken by each of the 22 institutes within the Łukasiewicz network. Collectively, these institutes drive meaningful changes in both the economy and the world at large, sometimes imperceptibly, but undeniably.
In 2021, research and development expenditure in Poland witnessed an impressive surge of over 16%, providing ample opportunities for the 7,000 employees across the institutions of the Łukasiewicz Research Network. As Innowatorium continues to foster collaboration between academia and industry, it showcases the remarkable innovation and transformative potential emanating from Poland’s scientific community.
