“It’s an Attempt to Intimidate” – Adamczyk Comments to Niezależna.pl on the Reaction of “Bodnar’s People” to Barbara Skrzypek’s Death

“I perceive the stance of Bodnar’s people as an attempt to intimidate—that anyone who links the death of Barbara Skrzypek to her interrogation will face legal action from them. We are all human beings and understand perfectly well that such an interrogation, which realistically could have lasted at most half an hour, since she had nothing significant to convey, might have affected her health. Why was she kept there for so many hours? Why was her lawyer denied entry? Just the lawyer’s presence could have emotionally stabilized her,” PiS MP Andrzej Adamczyk told Niezależna.pl.

Barbara Skrzypek, a former close associate of PiS Chairman Jarosław Kaczyński, died at 6 a.m. on Saturday. On the previous Wednesday, she had been questioned for many hours by Prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek in a politically charged investigation concerning the so-called “Two Towers” case.

PiS MP Andrzej Adamczyk, former Minister of Infrastructure, shared his memories of “Mrs. Basia” with Niezależna.pl.

“It’s hard for me to believe such a tragedy occurred. I had the pleasure of knowing Mrs. Basia—that’s how everyone addressed her. She was an extraordinary person, the embodiment of kindness. Conversations with her were always soothing. Many times, I witnessed her handling phone calls at the secretariat—calm, composed, and explaining things with exceptional patience, often for dozens of minutes at a time. She was always professional, patient, warm, and respectful toward everyone. Once, I asked Mrs. Basia about the source of her tranquility, and she responded that when someone calls with a problem, you cannot leave them without help; instead, you must listen and do everything possible to resolve the situation. An incredible woman; such people are rare,” Adamczyk told the portal.

MP Adamczyk also addressed the prosecutor’s statement that associating the death of a witness with their interrogation would result in lawsuits from “Bodnar’s people.”

“Contrary to the prosecutor’s claims, I do link this tragedy with the emotional and health consequences of the interrogation. However, the recent stance of Bodnar’s people strikes me as an intimidation tactic—that anyone who connects Barbara Skrzypek’s death with her interrogation will face accusations. We are all human beings, and we know that such questioning, which realistically could have lasted at most half an hour since she had nothing substantial to say, could affect one’s health. Why was she held there for so many hours? Why was her lawyer denied access? His mere presence could have emotionally stabilized her. All this must have negatively impacted her condition,” concluded the former Minister of Infrastructure.
