Before the start of a three-day session of the Sejm, Jarosław Kaczyński, chairman of Law and Justice (PiS), answered questions from the media. The controversial TVP Info in liquidation reporter, Justyna Dobrosz-Oracz, who tried to “corner” the PiS leader, ended up receiving a sharp comeback herself.
In July, the media reported that Speaker of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia had visited the apartment of one of the most important Law and Justice Members of the European Parliament, Adam Bielan. The meeting was also attended, among others, by Jarosław Kaczyński. Photojournalists appeared at the scene, which led pro-government outlets to write about alleged secret talks, while some Civic Platform politicians began criticizing the Polska 2050 Party leader.
And the issue continues to this day, especially since recently, in the Sejm, MPs from the Polska 2050 Party voted in line with the right-wing part of the Polish political scene.
“Please don’t embarrass yourself,” Kaczyński said.
It seems that amid the chaos currently engulfing the Polska 2050 Party and Szymon Hołownia’s announcement that he is leaving Polish politics, media outlets supporting Donald Tusk’s camp are spinning new theories.
This was demonstrated today by TVP Info employee Justyna Dobrosz-Oracz, who addressed the PiS leader in the Sejm corridor, asking about the July meeting at Bielan’s home.
Her question was: “Why didn’t you want to meet, for example, in the Speaker’s office, but instead held some secret meeting at Adam Bielan’s house?”
To this, Kaczyński replied that he has the right to meet in whatever format he finds appropriate.
“Please, really, don’t embarrass yourself. I can meet however I like. I enjoy visiting MEP Bielan’s home because it’s pleasant there. He has a very nice wife. The food is excellent,” said Kaczyński.
