Kamila Biedrzycka has admitted to making false claims regarding the interview with Anna Wójcik following her release from pre-trial detention. “Yes, indeed, I misled the viewers,” she stated on the state-run TVP Info channel, subsequently declaring that she has no intention of issuing an apology.
In recent days, TV Republika has been reporting on the dramatic circumstances surrounding Anna Wójcik, who is a suspect in an investigation related to the Governmental Agency for Strategic Reserves (RARS). The public prosecutor’s office ultimately decided to revoke her pre-trial detention. Wójcik is the mother of a seriously ill child, and the court instead imposed non-custodial preventive measures, including a financial surety of 400,000 PLN. After her release, she phoned TV Republika to thank its viewers for their support.
However, Kamila Biedrzycka presented a different version of events to her audience.
“The prosecution concluded that, due to her son’s condition, Mrs Anna W. could be released from custody. Afterwards, Anna W. got into a car and drove to TV Republika,” Biedrzycka stated on the program Super Express.
Biedrzycka: Yes, I Did Mislead the Viewers
Biedrzycka is also part of the team at the state-run TVP Info. MP Paweł Szrot (Law and Justice party – PiS) commented on this incident on that channel, suggesting that it was the ideal opportunity for a public broadcaster’s employee to issue a correction and an apology to Anna Wójcik for the falsehood she had spread.
“Regarding the claim that she appeared in the television studio? Yes, I misled the viewers,” Biedrzycka acknowledged. However, she added: “Not on this particular program, so I don’t understand why you’re demanding an apology on this channel. I do not intend to apologize, but I am correcting the information: Mrs Anna Wójcik gave the interview via telephone, not in the studio.”
“Good thing you’re clarifying that. At that moment, Anna Wójcik was waiting for her husband to take her to their sick child,” MP Szrot commented.
Kamila Biedrzycka and the Party with KO Politicians
It is worth recalling that Kamila Biedrzycka joined the liquidated Polish Television (TVP) following the change of government in Poland. After the decision by Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz, public media were taken over by the new authorities. Biedrzycka had already gained attention for attending a social gathering with politicians from the Civic Coalition (Koalicja Obywatelska, KO) at a Warsaw venue. TV Republika revealed details of the event, which took place just before Christmas in 2024.
