Justice Fund at a Standstill as Officials Fear Action: “Several Directors Have Resigned”

A state of decision-making paralysis prevails in the case of the Justice Fund. The ministry has hired an external firm, and civil servants are afraid to make any moves connected with the Fund. Why? They do not want to end up like the female officials prosecuted by Adam Bodnar and Waldemar Żurek. “We warned that this would end in decision paralysis,” writes former Deputy Minister of Justice Michał Woś.

In recent days, the Justice Fund has once again become a hot topic. The ministry failed to resolve the call for proposals in time, which will result in crime victims not receiving support. Moreover, the ministry has hired… an external company from Warsaw to assess formal aspects of applications.

As attorney Adam Gomoła revealed, this company approached a woman with a job offer who had spent several months in pre-trial detention at the request of the prosecution in connection with an investigation precisely into the Justice Fund.

It turns out this is not all. Assistance from an external firm may have been necessary because hardly anyone wants to work with the Justice Fund. This is because employees have been effectively intimidated by what the services did to the officials, Urszula and Karolina, who were placed in detention. No wonder no one wants to be woken at six in the morning and end up in handcuffs.

Attorney Michał Skwarzyński told Niezalezna.pl that “obstruction within the ministry may also be carried out by civil servants.”

“This is out of fear that they may be held criminally liable in the future. They see what happened to Ms. Karolina and Ms. Urszula, who committed no crime. Fearing possible charges down the line, officials may fall into a phenomenon of decision-making inertia. They may refrain from making decisions, push them onto someone else, prolong them, and so on,”

he noted.

Woś: We Warned It Would End in Paralysis

“Do you know that several directors of the Justice Fund have already handed in their resignations? Each did so after reading the regulations and seeing that the officials Karolina and Urszula are being prosecuted by Żurek/Bodnar for actions CONSISTENT WITH THE LAW. We warned that it would end in decision paralysis,”

writes former Deputy Minister of Justice Michał Woś.

STATUS OF THE JUSTICE FUND: PLN 898 million, including: PLN 487 million in the account, PLN 252 million in uncollected (!) adjudicated receivables. And from January 1, crime victims will be left without support – the network of 300 centers built by Zbigniew Ziobro and Marcin Romanowski is ceasing to operate,”

MP Woś added in a subsequent post.
